Eastbound and Down Custom Truck For Sale

Fans of the TV show Eastbound and Down have a good reason to get excited. Kenny Powers has a custom made 2005 Ram 1500 SLT and it is now up for sale on eBay.

According to Jalopnik, the truck is owned by Justin Masters. Masters worked on the set of the show for three seasons when the start of the show, Danny McBride, saw him driving it. Apparently it appealed to him enough to want to use it for the TV show.

Sadly, Eastbound and Down has been one of those shows that I haven’t gotten to yet, but it hasn’t stopped me from getting a good laugh out of the eBay listing. It’s a pretty cool looking ride with the flame design stretching across the entire body of the truck. The greatest part is the the Lambo-style doors that it has. Another great feature that it has for the fans is the tailgate, which features damaged caused by a cannon ball. The final icing on the cake however is the other tailgate that is autographed by Danny McBride himself.

Go online to eBay and check the truck and all its glory out for yourself. It’s definitely one that will be instantly recognized when driving down the road. For a fan of this show, I could definitely see someone taking advantage of this deal.

Museum of Aviation Gets Custom Ram Truck to Aid Programs

The Museum of Aviation is going to be getting some new help with heavy lifting, courtesy of a donated and personalized Ram Truck.

The Jeff Smith Automotive Group were the ones who provide the museum with the four door Ram truck. The truck sports a custom design and eye catching blue. Slapped on the side is the logo of the museum with a red, white, and blue paint scheme. There’s even stars and aircraft painted onto the side. The museum plans on having using this to aid their education and outreach programs.

“This will really expand our ability to talk about STEM programs math, science and technology and try and excite kids about getting into those fields,” said Pat Bartness, President of the Museum of Aviation Foundation. The truck will be helping with F-15 and T-37 cockpit demonstrations to schools, air shows, and other events.

2013 Ram 1500 Unveiled

The New York Auto Show is starting to really pick up some steam. With just a few days before the event is open to the public, Ram is already teasing with what to expect out of their line up. The Ram 1500 is already one of the most popular and recognizable pickups on the market. That being said, Ram wants to make sure that the truck doesn’t fall out of favor and in order to do that, they have showed off the new features that 2013 Ram 1500 will be getting. Everything from the Powertrain to a new aerodynamic design, Ram has some robust changes coming to the famous truck series.

“The new 2013 Ram 1500 is the most capable, best-looking half-ton pickup in the world and delivers best-in-class fuel efficiency, new technology and new features while upgrading the interior and exterior,” said Fred Diaz, President and CEO of Ram Truck Brand and Chrysler de Mexico, Chrysler Group LLC. “We changed every area of the truck – from a newly designed frame with air suspension, to a new eight-speed transmission to a new interior with the next-generation Uconnect® system.”

The new 2013 Ram 1500 is definitely getting an exciting array of new features to keep the increasing sales the Ram line has been enjoying up. The pressure is definitely on for the brand to make sure that the recent upswing in the industry isn’t a mistake. The 2013 Ram 1500 is all about proving it isn’t a fluke. Diaz added, ““With best-in-class towing and payload, best-in-class ride and handling and best-in-class aerodynamics, the 2013 Ram 1500 delivers unmatched content, performance and capability to our customers.”

Ram Shows “The More You Know, The More You Tow”

For years, Ram has been known for its excellence in towing trucks. With Ram’s wide selection of trucks, however, it can be tough for truck shoppers to figure out which vehicle is best for their needs.

In order to better educate consumers, Ram is offering a new service on their website called “The More You Know, The More You Tow.” Shoppers can find out the max payload, max tow, price, and other specs on each car. They can sort models by regular, quad, or crew as well as choose the box length, type of transmission, and 4X4 or 2X2 wheel drive. Once they narrow it down, they can sort the results by maximum towing, maximum payload, highest price, or lowest price.

All of these features are great, but by far, my favorite feature of their “The More You Tow” tool is their Towing Basics section. They have included definitions for common towing terminology that many people looking at their first towing truck might not know. They also included how much trailers, boats, cars, RVs, construction equipment, building materials and upfits normally weigh, so let’s say that a shopper knows that they need a truck for their boat trailer but don’t know which truck can handle it. By using the Towing Basics with the truck search tool, they can find out which trucks can handle their trailer.

Chrysler Rebounding From Struggling Economy

The economy is a hard topic to escape when discussing the auto industry. It wasn’t long ago that the future was so bleak that it took the government to step in to keep a full out collapse from happening. Now, in a Cinderella story, the industry is posting a sharp spike in sales. It’s the comeback story everyone has been waiting for every since the bailout.

It’s no surprise that Chrysler is brimming with joy at the sales figures seeing as how the company has had one of the largest gains. Those sales have thankfully continued not only through January but also February as well. In fact, February had an overall increase of 40 percent. That’s the 23rd consecutive month there’s been in an increase since 2009 when they filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Chrysler is making sure that this is the trend for the company. They want to make sure to prove to US buyers that this increase was not some stroke of luck. They have put their full force behind marketing and showing that their vehicles are of the highest quality. People are definitely noticing, especially with the award winning “Imported from Detroit” series receiving huge praises from this years Super Bowl. Chrysler coming back from the brink isn’t luck, it’s completely owed to the hard work and quality of the business.
