Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is Esquire’s Truck of the Year!

The Ram 1500 is leading the charge to being one of the biggest names in trucks this year.  It has already garnered a lot of praise from the critics and numerous awards including being the Truck of Texas.  Now the trophy shelf is getting a little bigger as Esquire magazine has named the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel their Truck of the Year.

In order to come to the conclusion about the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, Esquires editors made their way through all the possible truck models available in the US market.  They examined each on such traits as value, efficiency, and functionality.  Considering that the 1500 EcoDiesel has the best-in-class fuel economy, it doesn’t seem like it was a hard choice to make.

Ram Commercial Truck Series Wins Fans at Truck Show

truck2 One of the best selling segments in trucks, at the moment, is the commercial segment. Ram Commercial has been working hard to produce a series of vehicles aimed to draw in new consumers. That means more though than just coming up with the best trucks but also getting word out about the quality of the product. For that reason, Ram Commercial paid a visit to the National Truck Equipment Association Truck Show to give people a glimpse of their best trucks.

Ram provided numerous ways of engaging with drivers and encouraging them to test out their heavy duty truck line. One example of this was a scavenger hunt with the Ram ProMaster. It was one part game, another part being able to discover the features of the commercial van.

Also on display was the award winning Ram 1500. The new Ram truck is always winning massive praise from truck lovers and critics alike. Just recently the 1500 was named the ‘Truck of Texas’ along with numerous truck of the year awards. With the power and comfort the 1500 can provide, it is not very surprising to see why people are in love with the truck.

2013 Ram 1500: The Truck of Texas

Thanks to the truck drivers down in Texas, Ram is going to need a bigger trophy room. The brand took home top honors over the weekend at the 20th annual Texas Auto Writers Association Texas Truck Rodeo. In total, they brought 8 wins home with them, more than another auto maker combined.

That’s now the second year that Ram has won. The last time was in 2011 with the 2011 Ram Laramie Longhorn wining Truck of Texas. At this years event, the 2013 Ram 1500 is what impressed the voters the most. That’s not all, the new truck may have been the talk of the event, but the Ram brand was also the overall winner. The TAWA writers gave Truck Line of Texas to the Ram brand.

In all, the awards that Ram won were Truck of Teaxs, Truck Line of Texas, Full-size pickup truck, and Luxury pickup truck.

The TAWA President Michael Herzing praised the truck in his comments made about the big win, “Our members overwhelmingly chose the 2013 Ram 1500 as the Truck of Texas and the truck for Texans. The Ram 1500 is amazing. The new technologies in this truck are true game changers and raise the bar for the competition. You’ve got to love how touch, capable, comfortable, and fuel efficient this new truck is.”
