Ram ProMaster Wins Edmund’s 2015 Best Retained Value Award

Edmunds.com has put out their winners of the 2015 Best Retained Value Award and three vehicles from Fiat-Chrysler made the list.  The winners are the 2015 Jeep Wrangler, the 2015 Dodge Challenger, and the 2015 Ram ProMaster.

The list is put together by Edmunds.com by examining new car models that will have the highest projected residual value after five years based on the average True Market Value price when they are sold as new.  From there the models are broken down into body type segments as well as the size of the model and the pricing.

“A vehicle is expected to hold its value well when it is deemed likely to be desireable to a future buyer,” Jessica Caldwell, Director of Industry Analysis for Edmunds.com.  “The Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Challenger, and Ram ProMaster each has a lot of appeal in the marketplace both new and used, so it’s no surprise that they have earned this meaningful accolade.”

The Wrangler won in the Midsize Traditional SUV category, the Challenger in the Entry Sports Car category, and the RamProMaster in the Large Commercial Van category.

Future Ram Truck Spotted?

ram3500_exterior_13

With Fiat now having the controlling decisions in anything happening to their brands, Ram has had a question of what they will be trying to do in the future.  The influence of the European automaker can be seen blending into various models across the Chrysler family.  So far, that hasn’t really happened to any Ram trucks.  Spy photos of a mysterious prototype, however, seem to show the first combination of the companies.

Pickuptrucks.com has photos of what looks to be a new pickup being tested by Chrysler engineers.  Unlike most spy photos however, this prototype has gone to great lengths to mask its overall look.  Still, no matter how much extra is put on top of the body, it is clear that this is meant to be a new truck.

The spy who took the photos commented that they believe it appears to be based on the Fiat Strada pickup.  They say the headlights are “dead ringers for the headlights found on the Fiat Strada pickup.”  The speculation here is that this new truck could be the Fiat Strada with a Ram grille added to it.

Wild speculation is all that can really be done here.  Until more is known, this is just going to be a weird blocky black truck driving around.
