Ram Trucks Has Major Quality Improvement in the 2017 IQS!

Ram Trucks has quite the reason to celebrate! The new Initial Quality Study from J.D. Power points to Ram Trucks as the industry’s most improved truck brand with an improvement percentage of 24%!

The IQS is an annual report put out from J.D. power that asks over 80,000 buyers of new 2017 model-year vehicles and surveys their new car experience after 90 days of ownership. The survey asks a series of questions about their feelings on the vehicle’s overall design as well as defects. Using this information, the IQS then reveals which brands improved the most from the previous survey.

Ram Trucks was the big winner in quality in the 2017 IQS. Its improved quality was almost 25%.

“We’re pleased to see that all FCA US brands have made improvements in initial quality, especially Ram Truck with its big step up this year,” said Scott Garberding, FCA’s Head of Quality.

2017 Ram 3500 Wins Gold Hitch for the Heavy-Duty Segment!

The Fast Lane Truck has given the 2017 Ram 3500 their Gold Hitch award for the heavy-duty segment!

The process in which TFLtruck comes to the conclusion for which truck wins the awards is a harsh test. The editors take the chosen trucks to the Eisenhower Pass “Ike Gauntlet.” The pass is known for its grueling climb and reaches elevations more than 11,000 feet. This makes it the perfect place to really test out the capability of a truck.

“The 2017 Ram 3500 Heavy Duty was loaded with a 21,600-pound trailer for Gross Combined Weight of nearly 31,000 pounds,” said Andre Smirnov, the tech editor at TFLtruck. “The Ram dually came out on top based on its confident downhill performance, consistent uphill climb and leading observed fuel mileage among the competitors.”

While the Ike Gauntlet is a major test for TFLtruck to determine award results, other factors matter as well. Comfort, design, and other such things matter and in all of these, that is where the 2017 Ram 3500 won in its segment.

Ram Gives Praise This Thanksgiving with New Video

Ram Truck is spending Thanksgiving by celebrating and giving thanks for the hard work by families and workers across America in a new special tribute video.

The new video is called “Praise” and is doing just that. The praise is aimed at America’s everyday heroes of families and workers. The 90-second video features a wide amount of jobs and is an empowering look at the workers who keep the country moving. It’s certainly plays up to Ram being a truck for the working-class hero.

“Appropriately airing on Thanksgiving Day when families across the country take time to reflect and give thanks, ‘Praise’ is the Ram brand’s tribute to hard-working Americans and the story of people who are the backbone of our country,” said Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer for FCA in a statement. “Just as the brand paid homage to American farm families a few years back during a Super Bowl telecast, we always look for opportunities to build unique, impactful creative around a defining cultural moment that allows us to reach large audiences in a very effective way. ‘Praise adheres to our marketing mantra of thinking boldly and making a difference in both the message and the we deliver it.”

The video will be making the rounds on all the usual social media platforms and will be using the hashtag #RamGivesThanks. Country music singers that work with Ram, like Easton Corbin, will also be sharing stories of what they are thankful for using the hashtag. How Does The 2016 Ram 1500 Compare to the Competition?

How does the 2016 Ram 1500 stack up against the competition? That’s a question that Slashgear wanted answered. They compared the popular up-and-coming Ram truck to its 3 closest competitors to see where it was better and where it could use improvement.

The Ford F-150 has been the king of the truck segment for a long time now, but the Ram 1500 is starting to make gains as Ram continues to make quality trucks as well as push the knowledge of their capability out into the truck buying world. A few years ago, no one would’ve thought that Ram would mount the kind of resurgence it has had. So how does it compare to the competition?

First up is the previously state king; the Ford F-150. This is the one to be better than to hope to claim the segment. What the F-150 does better is that it has better towing. It also offers more gas engine options and has a cheaper base model. On the flip side, the 1500 has the EcoDiesel engine option, which rivals Ford’s EcoBoost engine in terms of fuel economy. Ram also features the Uconnect system that is better than the Ford’s SYNC touchscreen system. The final thing that the 1500 has that the F-150 does not is an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Next up is the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. The place where the Silverado offers competition to the 1500 is again in engine options. It has more V8 engines. That being said, the 1500 beats it in terms of value. Six-speed automatic transmission is in the base 1500 with the eight-speed available as an option and standard on most of the models. You don’t get that without paying a lot more on the Silverado.

Lastly is the 2016 GMC Sierra. The Sierra is comparable to the 1500 in many of the same ways that the Silverado is. The Sierra has more power in the engine options and driver safety features such as Driver Alert Seats. The 1500 wins again with its transmission offerings. The 1500 also has a better, and more comfortable, interior than the Sierra.

Texas Ranger Ram Truck Makes Appearance at Texas Ranger Hall of Fame

I love to talk about the Texas Ranger edition of the Ram truck only because it gives me a reason to pull out the incredibly obvious Walker Texas Ranger pictures. You’d think that’d get old, but you’d think wrong.

The Texas Ranger Ram is going on display for the public to see at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame for the weekend of June 19^th for the annual Texas Ranger Reunion. The truck itself was made specially to recognize and honor the Texas Rangers.

Ram trucks, through a partnership between the FCA Foundation, have helped to promote the heritage of the Texas Rangers. In 2014 at the State Fair of Texas, Ram President and CEO Bob Hegbloom presented the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum a check for $100,000.

The Texas Ranger Ram truck was first shown as a concept at the 2015 Dallas Auto Show. It sported numerous features meant to highlight and honor the Texas Rangers. One such feature is the silver-star Texas Ranger badge.

While the Texas Ranger truck is still only a concept, there is a possibility for a production run.
