Is The Ram Rebel TRX Coming?

Is Ram preparing to put out a new truck with a Hellcat engine?

The rumor mill is swirling around the possibility that Ram is getting ready to add a Hellcat-powered truck to its lineup.  This is stemming from a new listing at the Ram Trucks website that features an image of the Ram Rebel TRX concept with the tagline of “Get Ready for the Off-Road King.”

Motor Authority is one of the car blogs to notice this and reach out to Ram for clarification on what is going on with this listing.  They were told that the page in question is a year old and was made to promote the Rebel TRX concept.  This raises the question though, should Ram be giving the Rebel TRX its time in the sun?

There is a scattershot of clues that the continue to lead to speculation of the Rebel’s possible existence and Motor Authority runs through the various ones in their article, so check it out.  So far it seems to be wishful thinking, but that does mean it couldn’t become a reality in the near future.  For now, it seems, that Ram trucks is focused on producing competitive trucks and putting a foothold on the market as it creeps up on competition such as Ford.  Who knows what could happen.

Ram 1500 Rumble Bee Concept Announced!

ram-1500-rumble-bee-concept-front-static1-600-001Chrysler teased that Ram would have a surprise to show over the weekend.  Turns out the concept Ram truck is a blast from the past.

About a decade ago, Ram had a special truck that was inspired by a muscle car of the late ‘60s, the Super Bee.  At the Woodware Dream Cruise, as promised, Ram showed off the next step for the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee in the form of a concept truck with a new HEMI engine.

In a press release Reid Bigland, President and CEO of Ram Truck Brand, said, “The Ram 1500 Rumble Bee continues to have a strong fan base and what better place to celebrate its 10-year anniversary than Woodward Dream Cruise.  There’s a lot of energy surrounding concept trucks and buzz models, and the Ram Design Team revels in creating something that is unique for our customers to enjoy.”

The Ram 1500 Rumble Bee is coated in the perfect color, a honey yellow paint with black added into help accentuate the color on places such as the front grille.  What’s really cool is on the rear cab is a special decal of a speed-demon bee (complete with helmet) and is connected to the Mopar cover with a honey-comb black stripe.  It looks really cool!

The same decal is used on the interior door panel, but that’s not the real highlight.  It’s not even the sport-mesh insert on the seats.  The coolest part is on the gear select knob.  It’s a honey bee cased in resin on a honey-comb background.

So there it is, the mystery Ram 1500 in all it’s glory.  Here’s a video from Chrysler with a detailed breakdown of the truck:
